Update: July 2010

Jonathan and José just returned from a trip to Europe. The first leg of the trip involved a training for the Institute for Prospective Technological Studies, one of the Joint Research Centers of the European Commission. This five day training was successful, and longer-term relationships between the Pardee Center and IPTS are being discussed. One additional component of the training was the unveiling of the initial development version of the model as an open source product. Currently, this open source product is not available for public download, but it should be soon. On the trip to Spain, José and Jonathan enjoyed watching the World Cup in Seville, traveling to Cadiz and exploring Andalucia.

On the second leg of this trip, José went to Barcelona and Madrid for some much needed rest and Jonathan traveled to Ljubljana, Slovenia for a two day training for the Slovenian government on planning for a low-carbon economy. This training also produced interesting discussions on further collaboration. While in Slovenia, Jonathan had the pleasure to spend some relaxing time in the capital, travel to the world famous Slovenian caves and have a nice meal in the shadow of a beautiful castle built into the side of a mountain (see below).
